Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

Designed to improve the health of low-income eldery persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods.

Each month, qualified area seniors at least 60 years of age visiting Loaves & Fishes receive a 30-pound box of shelf-stable foods, such as milk, juice, cereal, rice or pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, poultry, or fish, canned fruits and vegetables, and a two-pound block of cheese, in addition to the fresh and shelf-stable food we give all households.

The CSFP program provides food in addition to other programs; it does not take the place of Meals on Wheels, SNAP, Produce Distribution, or any other food source seniors may currently be receiving.

Individuals who wish to enroll must provide proof of identity/age, proof of address, and proof of income when registering at Loaves & Fishes:

1. Proof of identity – Please bring ONE of the following:

  • License
  • Passport
  • Utility Bill
  • Rental Lease

2. Proof of Address (such as the address on a rental lease or utility bill)

3. Proof of income – Please bring ONE of the following:

  • Social Security Award Letter
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (1099SA)
  • Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
  • Pension or retirement statements (1099R)
  • Pay stubs or W-2 forms
  • Bank Statement
  • Unemployment benefits statement
  • Income verification through a tenant certification program
